Rome, Part I

"Friends, Romans, countrymen..."

We traveled back into the past while visiting Rome. These photos are from our day of touring the Roman Forum and the Colosseum, peppered with stops in various piazzas and breaks for food, too. 

For those wondering, the Forum was the heart of public life in ancient Rome. Today it is a sprawling ruin of architectural fragments reminiscent of how gradually and organically it developed over time.
